Oblivious to the horrors of her upbringing, she took refuge in writing and found solace in pouring her emotions onto the page. Julia’s entrepreneurial spirit saw her secretly exploring ways to earn money through writing, eventually stumbling upon the freelancing platform, Odesk (now Upwork). Within 24 hours, she had her first gigs and was well on her way to building a business. However, her decision to abandon her nursing studies came with serious repercussions. Shunned by her own parents, Julia continued to work through the crushing isolation while remaining in the cult.
