Renee Marino was a professional actress on Broadway and in film and TV, dreaming of one day playing the lead female role in the Jersey Boys movie. One day while on stage, she noticed the legendary Clint Eastwood watching her from the audience. When a film adaptation was announced, Renee wrote herself off, sure that only celebrities would be cast. However, she was called in to audition for a small role and, trusting her gut, asked to read for the lead role instead. Despite the initial rejection, Clint Eastwood had been waiting for her to walk through the door and cast her in the role. Her story was a powerful reminder of the importance of communication and speaking up.
